Posted @withregram • @qinza1 Let's contemplate the word "Mulk"! Written in bold black in Urdu, which means homeland. This artwork aims to question the profound notion of 'country' and its intricate ties to identity.

In this solo exhibition, I invite you to reflect on the multifaceted relationship we have with Mulk. The word represents more than just geographical boundaries; it encapsulates our shared histories, cultural heritage, and the complex tapestry of personal and collective experiences that shape our identities.

The push and pull dynamics between ourselves and our countries, the emotions of attachment and detachment, the yearning for roots and freedom, and the bittersweet dance of love and frustration that accompanies our connection to Mulk (homeland).

Let's collectively delve into the depths of what "Mulk" means to each of us and how it influences our sense of self and belonging. Reflect on the profound interplay between personal narratives and the broader socio-political landscapes that shape our lives.

Visit art Soch Contemporary to experience this exhibition, running until May 27th, from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm.

Home (written in Urdu in white text) is a complex concept that can evoke different emotions for different people. For some, it's a place of comfort and safety, while for others, it's a source of pain and longing. As a diaspora artist, I know firsthand the power of home and the profound impact it can have on our lives.

In my solo exhibition, "Meray Dil Merey Musafir: Tracing the Belongings," I also explore the theme of home and the ways in which displacement and migration can shape our sense of identity and belonging.

Through my artworks, including one with the text "home" in it, I seek to capture the emotions and experiences of diaspora communities, and reflect on the complexities of home and homecoming.

Whether you've left your city, home country by choice or circumstance, the longing for home is something that unites us all as diaspora. Let's come together and explore the many facets of home, from the memories and stories that shape our sense of identity, to the challenges and opportunities of navigating different cultures and societies.

Join me in this exploration by visiting my exhibition at ArtSoch Contemporary, where you'll find a range of dynamic artworks and side-specific interactive installations that invite you to reflect on the meaning of home and belonging. The show is up until 27th May.

Her work digs deep in epistemology of displacement, whether it's voluntary or involuntary. The consequences it brings to mankind or an individual, the deeper introspection on the history of objects and stories they hold with their materiality.

The exhibition forecasts the prevalent issues of our times and our evolution as being in this transitory world of opportunities, disasters and identity crises.
