Babar Moghal is Karachi based artist, graduated from Karachi School of Arts in 1993, He is working as a visual artist for almost 30 years now.
Babar’s work may appear well planned, but it’s the complete opposite. He works intuitively without planning beyond a central object, sketch of a figure, a building or a vehicle, then create a world around that object.
Babar find it inhibiting to attach specific meaning to colors and forms, it hinders the progress of new visual ideas. To him, it’s like an emotionally charged performance.
Blank canvas is a very exciting sight. Anything can happen. Babar draw and paint directly on canvas. It’s a risky method. A whole day of work can be destroyed in minutes, but there is a reward. The practice of art provides a measurable space to move without fear and anxiety and an exit when you feel like it.
