Hafsa Habib (born 1997) is a visual artist currently based in Rawalpindi. She completed her BFA from Government College University Faisalabad in 2019 specializing in Painting. Other than traditional painting techniques, Hafsa explores a variety of mediums like collage and mix media techniques. She embraces the imperfection of discarded, used and damaged vintage paper to create unique compositions. She sees her work as a meditation on unstableness and transformation. She assimilates the sense of passage of time and compression of memories. For her, surface of torn shapes of papers gives the sense of hopes and memories.
Of every precious moment that people live, they collect a souvenir of it. These items on the contrary are meaningless and waste, can hold so much meaning to one that has memories attached to that piece. When collecting and re- examining these pieces is not enough, Hafsa painted them, so the joy of having meaningless collection can be relived.
