Raveeda Ejaz born in Sargodha is a visual artist recently graduated from Lahore College for Women University, majored in painting. Currently living and practicing in Lahore, her topic of interest is comfort, longing, emptiness, love and implementing all these emotions together using a wide range of strokes, in her artworks. Her thesis was displayed at Alhamra Art gallery and was well-admired.
Raveeda tried to show a world that a child created to counter the situation and circumstances they were put into, and due to needs that weren’t adequately met. This led on to creation of vacuum and emptiness inside the child. If the emotional and physical needs of a child are neglected and they are not made to feel love, affection, nourishment, and protection. It tends to create severe and lasting effects on a child’s physical and spiritual development, as well as their overall well-being. These adverse effects follow them into their adulthood. Raveeda’s work represents the yearning for love, affection, care, safety, closure and effects of lack of all these feelings.
