Things that come into this world stay here forever. Existence remains, it just transforms from the tangible to the intangible. Impressions made by people stay in our minds, but layers of time
manipulate them. Aiman’s work is about revisiting precise moments through the reconstruction of memories. She paints artworks that draw on nostalgia and the way our recollections are stored and distorted. Her aim is to show the twin acts of remembering and forgetting through various visuals. She paints flowers as a metaphor of loss that is affected by its surroundings. Its connotation changes by its surrounding. She uses graphite because of its grey tones, but equally for the subtle shimmer it provides to her work. The grey tones to her describe her memories, while the glittery particles hint at its preciousness.
