My artwork is very personal to me, it is the culmination of my experience, travels and relationships I have built over the years. Growing up in both Sindh and Pakhtun and now in Punjab I am able to absorb/observed the vast culture they have to offer. From a very young age I worked as a mechanic and also decorated these trucks with Chamak Patti (a medium used to decorate trucks in Pakistan) through chamak patty I was able to study the esthetic and cultural nuances between various regions and styles. Learning the skills from various stars over the years I feel enriched and privileged with this intense knowledge – working with this medium was only organic for me.I have a deep adoration for trucks and large transport vehicles/vessels. My journey in working with Chamak Patti is taking me through various questions of art and craft practice. While different regions use chamakpatti as a medium of expression of their culture and diversity, I find it my language of expression, and feel through my work I am able to connect and bring various voices in my past to form a new journey together. Sometimes in abstract and others a vivid imagery I want my viewers to come along with me on my journey through my work.
