Artist Statement
Javeria through her multidisciplinary art practice with ceramics as a major medium of work, explores the ambivalentrelation of everyday utilitarian objects with traditional cultural practices that she observe in her surroundings. She choses work media that conceptually scaffold her work and speaks of femininity was a natural and intuitive process. The elements of linearity and repetition are significant in her visual and conceptual language. She employs the metaphor of domestic objects in her work as a reminiscent of her ancestral inheritance.
