About the Artist
Julius is a Lahore-based artist, writer, and teacher. He completed his undergraduate in Fine Arts from the National College of Arts, in 2013 and went for MA in Fine Art to Parsons the New School for Design, as a Fulbright Scholar in 2014. He has done two solo exhibitions and several group exhibitions in cities like New York, Philadelphia, Zurich, Dubai, Karachi, and Lahore.
Julius likes to document the urban landscape through photographs. He draws these photographs using charcoal on paper or oil on canvas. Charcoal adds a thick, velvety feel to the shadows and darkness of night in his paintings. He uses the technique of mark-making in a way that adds the elements of stillness and serenity to the atmosphere.
