Shanze is Islamabad based visual artist currently working as a Visiting Faculty member of the National College of Arts (Rawalpindi Campus) from where she also completed her BFA (hons). She has widely exhibited her work nationally with group shows in United States, New Zealand, Taiwan and Turkey.
Her work is based on the careful observation of daily encounters; exploring every day lived realities and expressing them as an aesthetic idea. There is an ongoing fascination with mundane living spaces and objects that conceal a multitude of experiences that can work as any sort of narration or interpretation. In terms of composition, this practice is illustrated through the breakdown of the observation and exploring its passage into abstraction.
