Abrar Muhammad (born 1987) is a mosaicist and printmaker currently based in Lahore,
Pakistan. He completed his BFA from National College of Arts, Lahore in 2015 and was
awarded Honours for his efforts.
Abrar’s calligraphic images are intriguingly intellectual in their linguistic understanding. His art
practice explores the connection between the traditional and the contemporary. He was one of
the participating artists in the Box Print, ‘Before There was a Monsoon’ at Cowasjee Print Studio
in 2016. He was also awarded the 11th ‘Young Artist’ award at Alhamra Art Council, Lahore in
- Abrar Muhammad has displayed his works at Art Chowk, Karachi; Zahor ul Ikhlaque,
Lahore; O Art Space, Lahore; Gandhra Art Space, Karachi; Gallery 7, Karachi; Ejaz Gallery,
Lahore and Alhamra Art Council, Lahore.
Alongside his art practice, he has been a faculty member at the prestigious Lahore College for
Women University, in the Fine Arts department, as a thesis consultant and a teacher.
