Aimen Kathia (b. 1998) is a visual artist. She received her undergraduate degree BFA in painting from Punjab University College of art and design in 2021 Kathia has a keen interest in photography and paintings. Her paintings and photography are an amalgamation of both surrealistic and naturalistic objects of daily life. Aimen has been a part of various group exhibitions so far in different venues like dominion, muse and o art space, main frame. And her work is in the permanent collection of Ambiance hotels Karachi and Hunza.
Artist’s focus keenly revolves around the tormented innocence of human beings consumed by
Mundane life which fades away with the passage of time thus, evokes sheer guilt. In her work Kathia explores the transition of losing innocence and mundaneness of life and how one falls prey to the enchanting but hideous realities of the world and become immune to the dingy life that a person no longer resists. Kathia’s visuals are primarily a fusion of pop surrealism and magic realism, and aims to show the dullness of bare life embedded in the whimsical world.
