About Artist and Work Process:
Zahra was born in Sialkot, and graduated from the National College of Arts, Lahore, in 2019 with a major in sculpture. She has participated in multiple group shows and competitions, in Alhamra Arts Council, Zahoor-ul-Akhlaq Gallery and at French Embassy in Islamabad. In addition she has attended workshops on calligraphy, art writing and taxidermy. She is currently based in Lahore and works on diverse range of projects in the Public and Private sector.
Her work deals with: humans, their individuality, mind, body and relationship with their surroundings beyond the spectrum of religion or culture. Her interpretation and understanding of physical and mental spaces is inspired by literature and philosophy.
To create independent and relatable work she chooses to use different art forms like sculpture, drawing and painting. Her mediums of choice are: wax, plaster, resin, charcoal, inks and other materials relevant to the theme.
