Kashif Ahmed was born in Karachi, Pakistan in 1983. He graduated from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, in 2014. His work revolves around the relationship between myths and organic forms. He discusses the societal beliefs in myths and how constantly they are being transferred from one generation to another. Ahmed has displayed his work at various art galleries in Karachi and Islamabad. The artist has also participated in a group exhibition titled “Well, come back home” with 50 other artists. His work was published in Dawn. Ahmed lives and works in Karachi, Pakistan.

The artwork depicts the possible consequences of the grasshopper myth and its impact. Grasshoppers are considered a symbol of prosperity and good fortune. The significance of the grasshopper and the transformation of natural elements into gold thus provide a visual representation of this narrative.
