The repetition of the text is a rigor in my practice. It’s like meditation, as it becomes an act of reassurance through words as if you are trying to dig deep into its meaning by repeating it over and over again.
A Contemporary Visual Artist, Miniature Painter and Art Educationist, belongs to tribal family from remote area of Balochistan, Jaffarabad Pakistan. He was born in 1984 Received a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from National College of Arts (NCA) Lahore in 2009, having specialization in miniature painting.
Qasim’s achieves successful achievements in his career, among these accomplishments, in 2021 Qasim not only awarded as an appreciable “high achiever” at National Youth Award in Painting and Calligraphy but also selected in a first Art Mentoring Program (ERCELAWN ART FUND), which is sponsored by Gallery 6 Islamabad at R.M studio. Likewise in 2021 a short period counted live performance was performed by Qasim within 4minutes 15seconds the portrait of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam. In 2017 he introduced his Art studio. Not only he was awarded the best performance certificate in Painting and Calligraphy from Military College Sui Baluchistan in 2018 and 2019, but also he was awarded Haji Shareef Prize in miniature painting at National College of Arts in 2011. Qasim joined Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture Karachi in 2005 and got certificate in Drawing and Painting. He initiated his nonstop struggle by working as an apprentice to become an effective painter from 1998 to 2004.
Qasim’s current endeavor shows that he made the practice of basic miniature painting as an efficient specialist. However, his work gives the impression of sophistication, sensitivity and subtlety. A sense of unity could be observed in creativity of composition in his work. He uses drawing pen pigment ink on arches sheet. He presented six solo shows. Qasims painting are completely archived and their size varies according to subject. He participated around twenty five group shows locally and internationally.
