The material comes alive on the canvas through the play of light, delicately breaking and traveling through each form and wave crafted by this refined artist. Abstract paintings, often in soft whites or iridescent hues, offer a tactile experience where light takes center stage. As time passes, light transforms the artwork, inviting viewers to witness its shifting essence.
These minimalist pieces create a seamless flow within a space, bringing calm, freedom, and serenity. Acting as windows to an ethereal realm, the light dances across textures, illuminating every corner with its radiant glow. They effortlessly brighten any environment, offering a meditative experience that touches the soul and transforms the surroundings. The interplay of color, form, and light invites a personal dialogue between the artwork and the observer, making each encounter a unique journey.

Sobia is an interdisciplinary artist, researcher and educator. Using performance, installation and text as an instrument she explores spatiality in relation to my own body. My research and practice deal with poetics and politics of the body in space, embodied ecology, temporal geographies, home, and addresses. I graduated from Utrecht School of the Arts, HKU, the Netherlands with a master's in performance art/artistic research. My thematic interests include the process of becoming, expanded identities, environmentalism, land art, protest, resilient bodies, social engagement and participation.
Through her practice and research, she aims to redefine what it means to be human by exploring an expanded identity that is interwoven with the inner, interpersonal, and ecological realms. she creates choreographies of empathy and love for beings other than humans. Inspired by the wisdom of trees, the earth, water, and mountains, his art and life are deeply intertwined with nature.
My journey as a mind-body psychotherapist has shaped my approach, borrowing from ecopsychology and the grief that stems from humanity's disconnection from the natural world. This exploration also engages with gendered ecologies, examining how our relationships to nature are shaped by gendered perspectives and the ways in which both bodies and landscapes are controlled, nurtured, or marginalized. I investigate how can embodied, site-specific, and dialogic performative practices with nature be used as pedagogical tools in the arts and education to cultivate healing, empathy, and ecological awareness.

The ritual of "Collecting Earth" began during an epiphany in an ecstatic dance session, realizing how little space I had occupied in the world. Raised to be polite and accommodating, I was taught to minimize myself. Since then, I’ve reclaimed space through movement—dancing, traveling, walking, and journeying through spaces and places. This ritual is a continuation of taking up space, finding my rhythm, and embracing an identity that transcends the physical body, geography, and the human form. It is an identity that is decolonized, free-flowing, and unapologetic, like wild forests and rivers—expansive and untamed.
