Shereen Abdullah
Biography & General Practice
With over 20 years of dedicated research and conservation efforts, Shereen Abdullah has focused on preserving numerous butterfly species across Pakistan. Recognizing the critical role these butterflies play in our ecosystem, she actively engages the community through education and hands-on initiatives. Her passion for fostering butterfly populations has inspired the development of her conservation initiative, built around the three R's: Rescue, Raise, and Release.
For schools and institutions, she offers Butterfly Awareness Sessions, where students explore the complete life cycle of a butterfly. An extension of these sessions is the Butterfly Club Program, where students learn the methods and techniques of butterfly nurturing.
Additionally, the Butterfly Adoption Program is part of the Butterfly Club, tailored for students trained under her supervision. In this program, they adopt caterpillars or pupae and care for them through to adulthood.
For the general public, she has launched the BRRM - Butterfly Rescue and Raise Mission. Through this initiative, anyone can reach out to her via social media for guidance on raising butterflies. Looking ahead, she aims to expand her efforts to include a wider variety of butterfly and moth species, both in Pakistan and globally.

Similarly, at Butterfly Effect, we are committed to conserving another marvel—butterflies—as a vital part of our natural environment. In ecology, every organism is interdependent and interconnected. To save butterflies is to contribute to the preservation of the world itself.
ArtSoch was launched in 2020; since then, the gallery has become a prominent destination for contemporary art from Pakistan. We consistently open exhibitions, featuring a mix of regional and global academic artists from the South Asian diaspora, working in diverse media; whose practices are dynamic in style , rigorously investigated and grasp gist of our time.
