About Artist and Work Process:
Maliha is Lahore based artist. She practiced painting at Hunerkada Lahore from 2014 to 2016 and later graduated in Fine Arts from Punjab University College of Arts and Design in Lahore with Distinction. She works with figurative visuals and has a keen interest in textures of different materials. She recently received Alhamra’s 16th Young Artist Award where she exhibited her work in the gallery.
Her work is based on avaricious human behavior. The nature of her work concept revolves around Psychological tensions. Since childhood, the artist has always found herself stressing over stuff that she thought could bring happiness but could not get for some reason. This insatiable desire for material things makes a person suffer if he/she clings to this addiction. Experiencing this behavior and the anxiety it causes through own personality and the struggle to fix it inspired the artist to work on it.
